Mountain Peaks was started by three women who have years of experience in the newspaper business. Our goal is to provide the community where we live with the kind of news that people want to know.
You can get late-breaking regional news from TV, radio and the local daily papers, but none of them concentrates solely on the Mountain Top community. We wanted to create a paper that would showcase the people, organizations and events in our own backyard. We'll leave the "hard news" to other sources, but we'll give you photos and information about your own home town.
Too often, important local events don't get the kind of coverage or promotion they deserve. Sometimes, it's hard to find out what's going on in our community.
Mountain Peaks doesn't concentrate on areas outside of our local region, but we do want to hear about Mountaintop and White Haven area residents who take part in events outside of the region. We want to promote events that happen where we live, work, worship, go to school and have fun, and the people who live here.
